Introduction to Tourist Spots & Events in Yomitan Village
[December to March]
Winter in Yomitan Village is full of fun activities! Here are just a few tourist spots and events to introduce! We hope you come to experience them!
[Zanpa Misaki Lighthouse & Whale Watching]
The only climbable lighthouse on Okinawa Main Island, Zanpa Misaki Lighthouse, is also recognized as a lighthouse of love. During the winter, you can see mother humpback whales, making whale watching possible.
[Ryukyu Lantern Festival]
This year marks the 10th edition of the "Ryukyu Lantern Festival," which is counted among the "three major night views of Okinawa!" You can enjoy making washi lanterns and projection mapping!
[Iruminbanta Seaside Night Lights]
"Seaside Night Lights," planned by Banta Cafe by HOSHINOYA Resorts, offers a fantastical world where the blue sea shines under a sky full of stars and the white sandy beach emerges!
[Yomitan Cosmos Field]
A vast cosmos field spreads north of Yomitan Junior High School!
While cosmos flowers bloom in autumn on the mainland, you can see them during this season in Okinawa. Yomitan Cosmos Field is the best photo spot!

Introduction to "Takushoku Kinokotan" located within the Shintoku Branch of Takushoku Bus 😊
This is a tourism farm utilizing the site that was used for the headquarters, train depot, and company housing of the "Hokkaido Takushoku Railway," which used to run between Shintoku and Kamishihoro.
The name "Takushoku Kinokotan" is a coined term made from "Takutetsu" (the railway) and "Kinoko" (mushroom) plus "Kotan," which means village in the Ainu language. It embodies the desire to bring vitality back to this once-thriving land.
Visitors can enjoy a shiitake mushroom picking experience using carefully cultivated logs made from timber harvested in Hokkaido.
The direct sales area offers the sale of log-grown shiitake mushrooms, goods related to the Hokkaido Takushoku Railway and bus, as well as mushroom-themed merchandise. There is also a corner displaying historical materials related to the Hokkaido Takushoku Railway 😍
