I'd never heard about Nikko Edomura until I read this article. It's really cool that Japan has a theme park like this. I've studied a bit of Japanese history but it didn't cover courtesans very much, so the only knowledge I have about oiran basically comes from the t.v. show Jin 仁 lol. I never would have guessed that it would take at least three years to be able to even walk properly, that sounds harder than learning the footwork from when I was in a kendo club. Watching the video though, trying to walk in that pattern while wearing those giant clogs looks pretty difficult. I'm curious to know if the courtesan in the video was previously a courtesan or has trained for a long time to be able to perform the role. If anyone knows, be sure to tell me! The place looks really fun to go for a date though, so maybe I'll check it out if I get the chance to go to Tochigi. Probably next summer or spring because it's getting way too cold for me lol!

🗾めんや天夢1回目 SNS→Instagram@menya.tenmu 、Twitter、アメブロ。 <お店の情報> 通販で何度もお世話になっているお店。 ようやく店舗に初訪問！ 煮干し好き界隈ではとても有名なお店。 駐車場は約30台程あり、店前、横、店裏がある。 先に食券を購入して並ぶスタイル。 店前には4人まで、自販機の後ろには並ばず小屋？の方に並んでいく。 お土産も購入できる。 店内はカウンターのみ。 <Point> ①煮干し愛。 煮干しを愛し、煮干しに愛されたお店。 煮干し好きのためにあるお店。 ②人気の行列店。 日曜日の昼間に訪問したので、それなりに並んでいた。 余裕をもっていくと良い。 ③メニュー。 基本的に煮干しらーめんしかない。 煮干しの使い方は様々になっている。 大盛りはないので、足りなければトッピングするか和え玉、替え玉をする。 その日によって限定が変わる。 <煮干しらーめんヤバニボ醤油980円煮干し愛50円> 食べたことないメニューもあったけど食べたかったこちら✨ 家で5回程は食べたヤバニボ醤油🤣 ついでに煮干し愛煮干しペーストトッピングしてみた！ おーこれこれってなった😊 でもやっぱり家で食べるより断然お店で食べる方が美味しい！ パッツン麺の茹で加減、強烈な煮干しスープが堪らない🤤 食べ応えあるチャーシューもくせになる！ 煮干しペーストを溶かしながら食べるとニガエグが増していく🙋‍♂️ 美味しかったごちそうさまでした^ ^

This is a really fitting video for this time of year. It's already getting really cold and beautiful snowscapes are starting to pop up all over the place. It's pretty unfortunate that coronavirus has made everything so hectic around the world, as I would have really loved to go to the Sapporo Snow Festival this year. Unfortunately it was cancelled, which is probably for the best, but maybe I can go check it out next year. I'd love to head over to Akita to check out some of the igloos too, as that sounds really interesting and I don't know much about the area. This article has a ton of places that I'll be adding to my list of travel destinations for the future! Idk about the snowboarding though, it's been a few years since I last went and I don't think it'd be too good on my knees lol! I hear the slopes in Japan are great though, so who knows, I might give it another shot if I head out to Zao!

・ 🗾自家製麺くろ松1回目 SNS→Twitter。 <お店の情報> 今回遠征の大本命。 東京のかづ屋さんなどで修行されている。 行列ができるので早めにいくことをオススメする。 駐車場は無いので、近くのコインパーキングへ。 トイレは近くに公園があるのでそこがいいと思う。 2019年11月1日から夜営業休止したので、結構ハードルは高い。 入店する際アルコールして、水はセルフで着席。 <Point> ①厳選されたメニュー。 中華そばは白醤油と醤油。 白醤油のつけ麺もある。 サイドメニューはトッピング類、飯類、酒類。 ②日本らしさ。 群馬県の県木が黒松。 群馬県愛を感じられる。 外観、店内、BGMも日本らしさを感じられる。 ③行列の人気店。 日曜日2時間前に到着するも誰もいない。 オープン時には40人程の大行列。 <松特級中華そば980円> 中華そばは白醤油か醤油が選べる！ 松竹梅になっていて、梅はかけそば、竹は普通、松は全部のせになっている✨ 見た目がとにかく美しい。 週によって細麺or平打ち麺となっている🥺 訪問した時は細麺だった！ 店主さんは職人みたいな格好してて、作ってる時も真剣そのもの😳 チャーシューは自宅にあるような低温調理機でやってた！ 麺は菜箸ですくう時点でもう綺麗。 これが家だとできないんだな💦 スープはかなりあっさりしているが、鶏と魚介類の旨みがすごい🙋‍♂️ ずっと飲んでいたくなる程くせになる^^ 自家製の細麺がまたスープに合い、程良い茹で加減で美味しすぎる😍 低温調理のチャーシューもどちらもたまらない！ 特に鶏チャーシューは程良い弾力、口いっぱいに広がる風味、旨味は最高すぎる🐓 ワンタンは肉肉しく、紫蘇がきいててよかった。 あとお酒に漬け込んだ味玉なんて初めて食べた🙆‍♂️ 美味しかったごちそうさまでした^ ^

What a great read! The ruins of these castles are amazing. Just looking at them I can feel the history and historical importance of each location. I liked the bit about Lady Otsuya as well. I love that you can go almost anywhere in Japan and there's hundreds or even thousands of years worth of history to be discovered. I don't think it's a stretch to say that perhaps the ruins are more interesting than the castles themselves, albeit not quite as beautiful lol. Although the nature surrounding these ruins is also a thing of beauty. It's easy to understand why these places are considered the treasures of Gifu!

Another thing that's so amazing about Japan. The nature here is just incredible. Back where I'm from, there's no way you'd find a place that's just nestled amongst the trees like this. On top of that, the rustic feel just completely removes you from the every day city life. What's even more amazing about this is that it's not like this is something that's uncommon and can only be found in a select few places. Gorgeous places like this can be found all over Japan, and they all have something unique about them. It's like everywhere you look there's something beautiful to be found. That food looks amazing too! lol

As someone who's lived in Japan for a while I've come to realize how much I really love the country and feel as though it's my duty to help communicate what makes it such a beautiful place to live. Which is why starting today I'm going to try to do just that. I'll try to share information through the lens of a foreigner living in Japan, so that others in a similar situation can hopefully use that information, whether it be to learn about all of the beautiful things Japan has to offer, or even just for sightseeing/travel purposes. I realize I've only just started here so probably not very many people are seeing this, but even still I'll try and do my best so that others can see the beauty that I see when I look at Japan.

・ 🗾青島食堂1回目 SNS→ホームページ。 <お店の情報> 長岡生姜醤油ラーメンの元祖。 新潟県内数店舗と東京秋葉原に1店舗ある。 宮内駅前店が本店にあたる。 お店の裏に4台駐車場がある。 正面入り口軒下に券売機がある。 店内はL字カウンターのみ。 水は汲んで置いていただける。 店員さんは女性のみだった。 11時〜20時の通し営業はありがたい。 <Point> ①生姜醤油ラーメン。 今では県内にお店が多数存在する長岡生姜醤油ラーメンの元祖。 また県外でも生姜醤油ラーメンを出しているお店も存在する。 ②懐かしい雰囲気。 創業1963年と老舗。 店外、店内もノスタルジックな雰囲気を漂わせる。 ③限られたメニュー。 ラーメンは生姜醤油ラーメンのみ。 そこにトッピングや麺量を増やすスタイル。 トッピング以外は酒類のみ。 ご飯と合いそうだが、提供されていない。 <青島ラーメン800円> 丼といいラーメンといいどこか懐かしさを感じる✨ 普通サイズで麺量175gは多めだ！ 生姜の風味がクセになり、キレのある醤油感はたまらない🤤 自家製の多加水麺もスープとよく合う。 薄めのチャーシューは旨味をしっかり感じられ、歯応えも良い😄 ほうれん草もあるとバランスいいな！ 美味しかったごちそうさまでした^ ^

THIS is what Okonomiyaki is supposed to look like! This is one of the great parts about Japan, great food and the staff will even help you cook your Okonomiyaki at a lot of places if you haven't made it before or aren't confident in your abilities! I can only dream of being able to make it this well lol. I'm definitely going to be checking this out next time I'm near Yoyogi!
