The turtle was slowly walking along the road.
He was on his way home to his house by the pond.
At that moment, the rabbit hopped over and said,
"Turtle, you're really slow. At this rate, the sun will set before you get home."
The turtle replied angrily,
"I can run very fast when I need to."
The rabbit laughed and said,
"When would that be?"
After thinking for a moment, the rabbit said,
"Alright, let's have a race to the top of that hill tomorrow morning. Whoever gets there first wins."
"Understood. Let's race."
The turtle replied.
The next morning, the turtle and the rabbit lined up, ready to race to the top of the hill.
The rabbit hopped over the river, passed through the forest, and ran across the field. When he reached the slope leading up the hill, he looked back but couldn't see the turtle at all.
"Hmph, what did I tell you? It's foolish for a turtle to race a rabbit. Well, I'll take a break here."
