From the works of the kiln master Seiko Tanaka, you can feel their unwavering commitment to "beauty." When we inquired about its source, she showed us a neatly arranged collection of shells. As a child, Tanaka picked up cherry and red shells during "spirit floating" held on local beaches during the Obon season, and became fascinated by the mysterious shapes and colors created by nature. Her words, "The truly beautiful things in this world are not calculated, like these," left a strong impression. It seems to embody the essence of Mugen-gama, which has a unique worldview.
