Hojo Wine is a brand of wine made near the Hojo Sand Dunes, located in the Chubu region of Tottori Prefecture. Renowned for their significant difference in warm-cold temperatures and excellent drainage, the dunes are surprisingly the perfect place to grow grapes. ??
Naturally, Hojo Wine has taken advantage of this and has been fermenting and selling wine in the area for generations!
Kazuhiro Yamada, of the 3rd generation, continues to take on challenges no matter what, including making use of grapes that have been difficult to look after due to an ageing population, and selling wine to support Ukraine, his wife’s homeland. ??
The wine is available to purchase at the winery itself, as well as in department stores and liquor stores around the prefecture and online.
The wine itself has a dry and mature taste that has been long-loved in Tottori for many generations. ?
