570-2 Gion-cho, Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture
Opened in May 2024, the "Gion Kagai Art Museum" utilizes the historical architecture while showcasing various items (such as kimonos and accessories) and information (including individual names and training stories) related to Gion, geiko (traditional female entertainers), and maiko (apprentice geiko), conveying this rich culture. Additionally, for an extra fee, visitors can enjoy performances of Kyoto dance by geiko and maiko or have commemorative photographs taken.
