Awesome! The cherry blossoms here are so bountiful! I like the sign as well. I've always wondered how these signs are made actually. It kind of looks like woodburning but at the same time I'm not so sure if that's the case. Either way, looks cool! I've not heard of Shingu Castle until now, but it looks like it was one of the castles torn down in the Meiji Period. From my understanding they're working to restore it so I wonder how it's coming along. I like visiting ruins though, so maybe before they finish rebuilding it I can make my way over there to see them lol. Obviously I'd like to see the restoration, but ruins are just as cool in my opinion. They have their own uniqueness to them!

和歌山県、高野山 奥の院。 御廟では空海和尚が今もなおそこに生き、世界平和と人々の幸福を願い瞑想を続けていると信じられ、国内のみならず海外からも多くの参拝客が訪れています。高野山の行事等は年間を通じて膨大にありますが、中でも「生身供(しょうじんぐ)」は入定後から現在まで1200年もの間、続けられている儀式のひとつ。これは御廟で待つ空海に食事を届ける儀式で、1日2回行われています。 雪の日の生身供の写真です。
