Mt. Yoshino is one of the most famous cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan.
Every year from early to mid-April, 30,000 cherry trees of about 200 species bloom in profusion, mainly white mountain cherry trees.

Mt. Yoshino is a world-famous spot where the entire mountain is registered as a World Heritage Site under the title "Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range."
During the cherry blossom viewing season, many people come to see the cherry blossoms.

There are many places to see the cherry blossoms, but the most famous is the view from Yoshimizu Shrine.
The view from here is called "hitome senbon" (lit. "One Look, One Thousand Cherry Blossoms") and you can see an entire mountain of cherry blossoms here.

When the cherry blossoms are in bloom, they are lit up and you can enjoy fantastic atmospheres during both the day and night.
